Eagle In Champion Frame

Friday, 29th August 2014

Eagle Top (Pivotal-Gull Wing, by In The Wings) could make his third successive trip to Ascot for the Gr1 Champion Stakes on British Champions Day on 18 October, reports racinguk.com. Connections will give the 10-furlong Gr1 feature some consideration for the exciting colt, whom they see as making an even better 4YO. "We'll be looking at the Champion Stakes. It will be just a look and see. It's a possible target for him. He is in it," said Hugo Lascelles, racing manager to owner Lady Bamford. "We've more of a mind to next year." The John Gosden-trained Eagle Top made his first appearance at the Berkshire track when winning the Gr2 King Edward VII Stakes at the Royal meeting before finishing a creditable fourth to brilliant filly Taghrooda in the Gr1 King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes on what was only his fourth career start.
