Always Allison Wins Gr2 Sweet Embrace Stakes
At Warwick Farm in Sydney, Vinery shuttler More Than Ready (Southern Halo-Woodman's Girl, by Woodman) added a Group success when 2YO filly Always Allison (More Than Ready-Rhema, by Fusaichi Pegasus) scored by 0.5-length for trainer Chris Waller in the $175,000 Gr2 Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) for 2YO fillies, over fellow fillies Speak Fondly (Northern Meteor-Blab, by Flying Spur) & Tibrogargan Miss (Monashee Mountain-Miss Raffin Dane, by Special Dane). This was the first stakes victory for Always Allison who took her record to 2 wins from 2 starts for $139,725 earnings. Always Allison, whose third dam is Golden Slipper winner Bint Marscay, will now have to pay a late entry fee of $150,000 is she hopes to emulate her famous relative in three weeks time. "It's not my money so it is a pretty easy decision for me. We'll put some thought into it over the next few days. It is a good problem to have," Waller said. "We won't be stressing about it today. It is going to be a big call." Always Allison hails from an outstanding Australian family that also includes her second dam Mannington, dual Gr1 winner Filante, Australian Guineas winner Kenny's Best Pal, Victoria Derby winner and sire Benicio, and Gr2 winner Romneya.
