At Ascot in West Australia, Emirates Park Stud's Gr1-winning stallion Al Maher (Danehill-Show Dancing, by Don't Say Halo) added a black-type when 3YO filly Delicacy (Al Maher-Simply Wicked, by Scenic) scored by 3.5-lengths for trainer Grant Williams in the $100,000 Listed Ascot 1000 Guineas (1800m) for 3YO fillies, over fellow 3YO fillies Neverland (Big Brown-Midnight Special, by Zabeel) & Keysbrook (So Secret-Interlagos, by Quest for Fame). A homebred for prominent WA owner and breeder Bob Peters, Delicacy took her record to 5 wins (including the Gr3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes) and 3 placings (the Listed WATC Burgess Queen Stakes) from 9 starts for $336,800 earnings.
