Red Cadeaux Works At Werribee

Tuesday, 3rd March 2015

Meanwhile, connections of Red Cadeaux are confident the globetrotting galloper is fit enough to run well in the Gr1 Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington on Saturday week. The English stayer tuned up for the $1 million feature with a track gallop at Werribee yesterday. "That was his first solid piece of work on turf since he ran at Sha Tin ... I expected him to blow a bit more than he did but he's pretty fit," travelling foreman Robin Trevor-Jones told racing.com. "We know he's got the speed for a mile-and-a-quarter (2000m), he showed us that in Dubai." He added, "He'll go into the Australian Cup as fit and as well as he can be, he's always run well first time out so we're expecting a big run."
