Big Plans For Star Fashion

Friday, 6th March 2015

Trainer David Hayes has mapped out an ambitious autumn campaign for talented mare Star Fashion (Street Cry-Elegant Fashion, by Danewin) who resumes in the Gr3 Frances Tressady Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on Saturday, reports racing.com. Hayes, who trains in partnership with nephew Tom Dabernig, said he had Gr1 options in both Sydney and Hong Kong in mind for the daughter of Street Cry and Hong Kong Derby winner Elegant Fashion if she can run well first-up. "I think she'll sprint well fresh and if she was to win first-up I might keep her fresh and head straight to the Queen Of The Turf (1600m) in Sydney," Hayes said. "She's owned in Hong Kong so if she ran well in that then I might take her for the international races in Hong Kong that follow after the Sydney Carnival if she was invited." Star Fashion hasn't raced since finishing 7th in the Gr2 Matriarch Stakes at Flemington on 8 November, but prior to that landed two wins in succession including the Gr3 Ladies Day Vase (1600m) at Caulfield.
