Woodside Park Stud Announces 2015 Sire Fees
In local breeding news, Victoria's Woodside Park Stud has announced its stallion fees for the 2015 season. Heading the line up is popular Gr1 winner Zoustar at $44,000 (inc GST). In a unique arrangement, the son of boom sire Northern Meteor is standing alternate seasons at Widden Stud in NSW (where he covered 185 mares in his debut year in 2014) and Woodside Park Stud for his first four seasons. Meanwhile, resident stallion Written Tycoon (Iglesia) has earned a fee increase ($19,800 inc GST), with February alone providing the sire of high profile galloper Rich Enuff with five individual stakes winners: It Is Written, Stoker, Tycoon Tara, Vibrant Rouge and Written Dash. Completing the trio of stallions is Foreplay, the Danehill sire-son whose early career was hampered by fertility issues. Subsequently averaging over 80 percent foals from his mating at Woodside Park after having stem cell treatment, Foreplay's fee remains an enticing $6,600 (inc GST).
