Hayes To Train Exciting Perth Sprinter
The West Australian reported over the weekend that exciting Perth sprinter He Or She (Kendel Star-Danessa, by West Point) will be transferred to the Victorian stable of David Hayes and Tom Dabernig within the next few weeks following his partial sale to a new group of owners. Trainer Vaughn Sigley and co-owners Alan and Birgitt MacAlister have retained a 50 per cent share in the 4YO Kendel Star gelding, who has displayed well above average ability winning 7 of his 9 career starts to date. The deal is believed to be worth around $350,000 and was negotiated by Melbourne-based bloodstock agent Mark Pilkington. The sale is a wonderful result for Sigley, who paid just $5,000 for He Or She's dam Danessa. "I have a 25 per cent share and Alan and Birgitt retain 25 per cent, with the other owners having 50 per cent," Sigley said. "Kim Rose came down and inspected the horse and he passed with flying colours. We are excited about it all." Sigley added, "He will go over there a fairly low-rated horse and work his way up the grades. If he can make it over there then fine, but if they don't think he can go right to the top, he can come back here and I can take him back to train. I think he will get better as he steps up over a bit of ground."
