Suavito To Win Again: Blackiston

Friday, 13th March 2015

Nigel Blackiston expects last-start Gr1 winner Suavito (Thorn Park-Queen Cha Cha, by High Chaparral) to continue on her winning way in Saturday's Gr2 Blamey Stakes (1600m) at Flemington. The Thorn Park mare resumed with a well deserved maiden Gr1 success when defeating Smokin' Joey and Dissident in the Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield two weeks ago, and Blackiston says she has done nothing but please him since. "She's done very well. I'm extremely pleased with how she's come through her first-up run and I'm looking forward to Saturday," Blackiston told RSNs Shane Anderson. "Her fitness has improved. She galloped beautifully on Tuesday morning with a mate and there is still room for a little more improvement heading towards Sydney." When asked about Suavito's prospects on Saturday, Blackiston was blunt. "I'm very confident," he said. "It's pretty much the same field that she met in the Futurity. She's nicely weighted again and I just thought it was a nice option heading towards the Doncaster later on."
