At Ascot in West Australia, Emirates Park Stud's Gr1-winning stallion Al Maher (Danehill-Show Dancing, by Don't Say Halo) added a black-type success when 3YO filly Delicacy (Al Maher-Simply Wicked, by Scenic) scored by 1.75-lengths for trainer Grant Williams in the $100,000 Listed Natasha Stakes (2200m) for 3YO fillies, over fellow fillies Shinta Mani (Viscount-Bonzara Gold, by Ron Bon) & stable-mate Neverland (Big Brown-Midnight Special, by Zabeel). A homebred for prominent WA owner and breeder Bob Peters, Delicacy took her record to 6 wins (including the Gr3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes & Listed Ascot 1000 Guineas) and 3 placings (the Listed WATC Burgess Queen Stakes) from 10 starts for $428,500 earnings.
