Luger Wins Gr1 Hong Kong Derby

At Sha Tin in Hong Kong, multiple Gr1-winning shuttler & former star Australian sprinter Choisir (Danehill Dancer-Great Selection, by Lunchtime) celebrated a Gr1 success when 4YO Australian-bred gelding Luger (Choisir-Miss Conception, by Danzero) scored by 0.75-length for trainer John Size in the HK$18 million Gr1 Hong Kong Derby (2000m), over 4YO French-bred gelding Got Fly (Early March-Gotdream, by Loup Solitaire) & fellow 4YO Australian-bred gelding Romantic Touch (Northern Meteor-Dearness, by Snippets). This was the first stakes victory for the exciting Luger who took his record to 7 wins and 2 placings from 10 starts for HK$15,028,750 earnings. Luger was a $260,000 purchase by John Foote at the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Bylong Park Thoroughbreds. From the Danzero mare Miss Conception, Luger is a full-brother to dual Gr3-winning mare Psychologist.
