Black Caviar Cobalt Report

Tuesday, 17th March 2015

Racing NSW yesterday fielded a number of requests for information on the analysis for levels of cobalt of NSW samples taken from champion race mare, Black Caviar. RNSW had previously announced that re-testing for cobalt levels of all stored samples held at the ARFL was progressively occurring. To avoid further speculation, RNSW Stewards advised that the urine sample taken from Black Caviar after winning the Gr1 TJ Smith Stakes at Royal Randwick on the 9th April 2011, returned a cobalt level within normal parameters. "RNSW Stewards can advise that the urine sample taken from Black Caviar after winning the TJ Smith Stakes at Royal Randwick on the 9th April 2011, returned a cobalt level within normal parameters," RNSW Chief Steward Ray Murrihy said.
