Golden Slipper 'Call Of The Card' This Friday
Sydney's leading bookmakers are expected to hold a quarter of a million dollars in bets on next Saturday's ATC Golden Slipper Stakes at the annual 'Call of the Card' to be held at Randwick Racecourse on Friday 20th March. The Call of the Card is open to the public and will be held in the Randwick Racecourse new grandstand on Level 3 commencing at 3.30pm following the traditional Carbine Club Golden Slipper lunch. ATC Rails bookmakers David Dwyer, Bill Murphy, Rob Waterhouse, Warren Woodcock and Grant Palmer will take bets from professional and recreational punters alike at the event, offering prices that are traditionally better than those available with other national wagering operators. NSW Bookmakers' Co-operative Chairman David Dwyer again expects the event to attract a number of very large punters. "We have each guaranteed to bet any punter to win at least $20,000 at the odds offered" said Dwyer. "Again this year we will as a group bet any owner with a starter in the race to win at least $100,000 on their horse," he added.
