Alfred Nobel To Remain In WA

Thursday, 19th March 2015

Lynward Park Stud has purchased Coolmore Stud's 50 per cent interest in Alfred Nobel (Danehill Dancer-Glinting Desert, by Desert Prince) with the promising sire to be based permanently in West Australia. Alfred Nobel was a star Irish 2YO in 2009, winning both the time-honoured Gr1 Phoenix Stakes and the Gr2 Railway Stakes. He joined Coolmore's Irish roster in 2011 and following the purchase of an initial 50 per cent interest by Lynward Park shuttled to WA in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Alfred Nobel's first northern hemisphere crop hit the tracks last year and he sired 10 individual winners and eight individual place getters in England, Ireland, France and Italy. He has had three current season 2YOs to race from his first WA crop, namely Dickey (third in the Listed Magic Millions Perth 2YO Classic), Showy Chloe (third in the Listed Supremacy Stakes & third in last Saturday's Gr3 Gimcrack Stakes, recording the best final 600m section in both races) and Danerip's Girl (debut second in the Westspeed Plate).
