James Happy With Silent Achiever

Thursday, 19th March 2015

Roger James believes a return to Rosehill and a middle distance can help bring out the best in star Kiwi mare Silent Achiever (O'Reilly-Winning Spree, by Zabeel) in Saturday's Gr1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill, reports NZ Racing Desk. "There's no doubt the bigger tracks suit her better," James said. "We're in to win it, but it's not going to be desperation stakes if we don't and she'll go on to the BMW." Silent Achiever, who pleased James with her last-start fourth in the Gr1 Chipping Norton Stakes over a mile, won both the Ranvet and the BMW 12 months ago. Later in the year, James and owner Kevin Hickman plan on taking Silent Achiever to Europe for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and a mating with the world's highest-ever rated racehorse, Frankel.
