OBS March Sale Day-2: US$950K For Broken Vow Colt
A son of Broken Vow (Unbridled) topped the second session on the final day of the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's March 2YOs in Training Sale on Wednesday when knocked down to Linda Rice for US$950,000. Consigned by Eisaman Equine as agent, the bay colt, who worked an eighth in :9 4/5 at Friday's Under Tack session, is out of the stakes placed Tale of the Cat mare Tale of the South, a half sister to graded stakes winner Futural. For the session, 155 horses grossed US$24,435,000, averaging US$157,645. The median price was US$100,000 and the buyback percentage was 25.8 per cent. For the entire sale, 326 horses sold for a March record US$55,682,000, averaging US$170,804 with a median of US$105,000. Twenty five horses brought US$500,000 or more, compared with ten a year ago. The overall sale topper was Zero Hour, a son of Bernardini who sold to Live Oak Plantation for US$1.4 million on Tuesday.
