Ascot Next For Brazen Beau

Monday, 23rd March 2015

Brazen Beau (I Am Invincible-Sansadee, by Snaadee) will miss the Gr1 TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick with connections preferring to send the outstanding young sprinter straight to England to prepare for Royal Ascot in June, reports racingandsports.com.au. "The TJ Smith was certainly tempting after the way he won the Newmarket," said Grant Morgan, principal of Ontrack Thoroughbreds who races the colt with Darley. "But we had set out a plan even before Darley became involved which was two autumn starts and then Royal Ascot in June. The program was mapped out for straight racing at which he excels. He hasn't been around a turn this preparation and the straight sprints in England appeal." He added, "He will have another week in the paddock and get ready for the trip and the races." Morgan said Brazen Beau would run in either the Gr1 King's Stand Stakes or the Gr1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at the Royal meeting. "We haven't ruled either one out," he said. "It will be on or the other." Brazen Beau was purchased by Darley Australia after winning the Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes at the end of last year but will continue to race in the all gold colours of his previous owners, Ontrack Thoroughbreds, for the duration of his autumn campaign.
