Cape Thoroughbred Yearling Sale
A son of leading South African sire Trippi was the highest priced lot on the second and final day of the Cape Thoroughbred Yearling Sale on Saturday when selling to Chris van Niekirk's Rainbow Reach Trading for R1.3 million. Named Torre Del Oro, the sale-topper is out of the Fort Wood mare Fort Sylvia and hails from the family of outstanding sprinter Dayjur as well as Gr1 performers Gold Beauty and Sky Beauty. Athe conclusion of the sale, 237 lots (92 per cent) had sold for turnover of R28,190,000 at an average price of R118,945.
