Real Impact Wins Gr1 George Ryder Stakes

At Rosehill Gardens in Sydney, 7YO Japanese entire Real Impact (Deep Impact-Tokio Reality, by Meadowlake) scored by 0.1-length for trainer Noriyuki Hori in the $1 million Gr1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) for 3YO+, over 4YO entire Criterion (Sebring-Mica's Pride, by Bite the Bullet) & 3YO colt Kermadec (Teofilo-Hy Fuji, by Fuji Kiseki). Real impact, who is a son of champion Japanese racehorse and sire Deep Impact, took his record to 5 wins (including the Gr1 Yasuda Kinen) and 6 placings (including the Gr1 NHK Mile Cup) from 26 starts for $5,145,191 earnings. Real Impact will now progress to the $3 million Gr1 Doncaster Mile at Royal Randwick on 4 April.
