Tower Of Lonhro Wins Listed Grandstand Cup

At Ascot in Western Australia, former Australian Champion Sire & 11-time Gr1-winning Darley World Champion Miler Lonhro (Octagonal-Shadea, by Straight Strike) added a black-type success when 6YO gelding Tower Of Lonhro (Lonhro-Spire, by Danehill) scored by 0.5-length for trainer Adam Durrant in the $100,000 Listed Grandstand Cup (1500m) for 3YO+, over 8YO gelding Ask Me Nicely (Ustinov-Took a Chance, by Unbridled's Song) & 5YO gelding Sireeze (Choisir-Westerly Breeze, by Dr Johnson). Tower Of Lonhro, who was purchased for $120,000 by Jason Warren Racing at the 2010 Inglis Australian Racehorse Sale from the draft of Bell River Thoroughbreds, took his record to 10 wins and 5 placings from 27 starts for $279,393 earnings.
