Browne Excited By Pride Of Dubai

Tuesday, 24th March 2015

Meanwhile, Queensland-based jockey Damian Browne says he is looking forward to riding Blue Diamond winner Pride Of Dubai (Street Cry-Al Anood, by Danehill) in the Gr1 Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on 4 April. The Blue Diamond form was franked when third placegetter Lake Geneva finished third again behind Vancouver in last weekend's Gr1 Golden Slipper. "I think Pride Of Dubai's form line is very good and I think he is an untapped colt at this stage,'' Browne told the Courier Mail. "The 1400m of the Sires will also be to his liking, even though I think he could end up being more of a miler.'' He added, "I think Pride Of Dubai is a very smart horse, especially seeing as the Snowden's (trainers Peter & Paul Snowden) did not initially think he would make it as a two-year-old." The Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum-owned Pride Of Dubai is now favourite for the Sires' Produce following Gai Waterhouse's decision to spell Golden Slipper winner Vancouver. Pride Of Dubai is scheduled to have an 800m barrier trial at Warwick Farm on Friday.
