Shooting To Win To Miss Doncaster

Thursday, 26th March 2015

Shooting To Win will miss the Doncaster Mile to be reserved for the Gr1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick on 18 April, reports racingandsports.com.au. Trainer Peter Snowden made the decision after consulting the horse's owners following his disappointing performance in last weekend's George Ryder Stakes. The Caulfield Guineas winner faded to finish fifth (beaten 2.3-lengths) behind Japanese galloper Real Impact but showed signs of back soreness after the race. "He pulled up with some muscle spasms after his run the other day," Snowden said. "It will give me a bit more time to get him right and have him one hundred per cent rather than go into a Doncaster at eighty-five per cent which isn't good enough."
