Swettenham Relocates Two Sires To Other States
South Australia and New South Wales are set to benefit from stallion relocations in 2015. According to breednet.com, Victoria's Swettenham Stud will relocate Kaphero (Danzero-Kapchat, by Centaine) and Host (Hussonet-Colonna Traiana, by Roy) to accommodate three new stallions joining the Nagambie property roster in 2015. Host's new home will be Willow Grove Stud in South Australia, while the Riverina's Riverdene Stud is set to gain Kaphero. Willow Grove principal Ralph Satchell enthused about his new acquisition: "His only colt at the 2015 Adelaide Magic Millions sold for $55,000," he said. "Some of Host's best progeny like Philippi have been sold overseas but there's plenty more in the pipeline. He covered over 120 mares in 2012 and those foals are rising two year-olds. In the meantime, horses like Hong Kong Captain will help promote bookings this year – Lindsay Park reckon he's a Gr1 winner of the future." Kaphero is likely to find strong support as well, with Riverdene Stud's owner Kevin Pendergast noting, "Broodmare owners don't have a lot of stallions to choose from around here. Kaphero was a very fast horse and his stock get up and run. That will suit our client base with the accent on speed an over-riding factor."
