JFK Firms In Derby Betting

Tuesday, 31st March 2015

News out of Ballydoyle that John F Kennedy will follow the same Derby path as Galileo and High Chaparral has prompted bookmakers to shorten the colt's odds even further for the June 6 Classic, reports racingpost.com. The son of Galileo and Gr1 winning Danehill mare Rumplestiltskin, who has won 2 of his 3 starts including the Gr3 John Deere Juvenile Turf Stakes at Leopardstown, is one of seven Aidan O'Brien trained horses which are responsible for the first 8 in Derby betting. "Aidan O'Brien has stated that John F Kennedy will head to Epsom via the Ballysax Stakes and Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial, the path his first two Derby winners - Galileo and High Chaparral - took, and that news seems to have prompted further support for the ante-post favourite," said David Stevens from Coral, who have the colt listed at 4-1. John F Kennedy was part of a large Ballydoyle string that worked at the Curragh on Sunday at the conclusion of the day's racing with Ryan Moore giving a positive report about the colt.
