Pride Looking Forward To TJ

Tuesday, 31st March 2015

Joe Pride says he is can't wait for the Gr1 TJ Smith Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday where his stable star Terravista will once again clash with fellow high-class speedsters Lankan Rupee and Chautauqua, reports racingandsports.com.au. The heavyweight trio were upstaged by young gun sprinter Brazen Beau when they last met in the Gr1 Newmarket at Flemington three weeks ago, with all three seemingly beaten on their merits. However, Pride said that Terravista, who finished third, was affected by the heat and is hoping for cooler conditions come the weekend. "That has happened to him before," Pride said. "He doesn't like humidity and it was pretty warm that day." He added, "It's not a problem but I would like a nice cool day for the TJ. He is in great order and I can't wait for the race." Pride added that should the forecast rain arrive, then Terravista's half-brother and noted mudlark Tiger Tees will also line up.
