King's Troop Looking To Go One Better At Farm

Wednesday, 5th August 2015

Trainer Gerald Ryan will have a chance this afternoon to get a further line on just how smart early season 3YO King's Troop is when the colt jumps in Race 1 (1200m) at Warwick Farm today. Boasting an impeccable pedigree, the Redoute's Choice three-quarter brother to 2006 Gr1 Oakleigh Plate winner and successful sire Snitzel (also trained by Ryan) was bred by Arrowfield Stud and races in the well known ownership of Arrowfield Pastoral Pty Ltd & Belford Productions Pty Ltd. Like his paternal great great grandsire Northern Dancer, King's Troop is just 15.1 hands, but lost no admirers in his only start to date when finishing runner-up on unfavourable heavy ground behind promising Japonisme, now the winner of his past three starts.
