Al Kazeem Career Switch Happens Again

Thursday, 6th August 2015

The on again, off again, stud career of European Gr1 winner Al Kazeem (Dubawi-Kazeem, by Darshaan) is on again, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. Originally retired to stud in 2013 after a stellar career that netted him multiple Gr1s and a strong following of fans. Unfortunately for connections, matters went somewhat awry when Al Kazeem was found to be sub fertile after standing at HM the Queen's Royal Studs for £18,000. Despite getting 25 mares in foal, Al Kazeem was put back into work with trainer Roger Charlton by his original owner John Deer – very successfully as it turned out, with multiple Group wins including the Gr1 Tattersalls Gold Cup in May. He will stand at Deer’s Oakgrove Stud in 2016.
