Snowdens Plot Feature Future For Kangarilla Joy
Like a good wine, yesterday's Warwick Farm debut winner Kangarilla Joy (Lonhro-Lonhro-Midnight Joy, by Zeditave) will likely improve on her performance, yet punters will just be happy she put her head down when it mattered in a tight finish. The subject of a major betting plunge, the $840,000 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale graduate jumped at even money ($1.60 on the NSW tote) after better than $3.50 was available after markets opened. Starting from the extreme outside barrier, Hugh Bowman was forced to make the plunge filly work hard to be handy turning for home, where she balanced up before being taken on down the outside by diminutive Edge Away. Co-trainer Peter Snowden was pleased the result went the way of leviathan US owner Barbara Banke, and acknowledged that the stable will aim Kangarilla Joy at some of the better Spring features for fillies.
