Spalato Could Get Back On Track In Singapore Gr3

Friday, 7th August 2015

On Sunday in Singapore, last year's Champion 4YO Spalato (Elusive City-Ellington, by Express Duke) will have his first race start in eight months since finding Hong Kong a bridge too far with a hip injury at the end of last year. The exciting New Zealand-bred horse, who was undefeated in 6 Singapore starts prior to heading East to Hong Kong, captured the hearts and minds of Singapore racegoers with charismatic performances that incorporated wins in the Gr1 Singapore Derby and Gr1 Singapore Patron's Bowl. Spalato is owned by Kiwi couple Graham Mackie and Trish Dunnell (one of New Zealand's leading racing photographers), and lines up in the Gr3 Woodlands Handicap at Kranji where top jockey Manoel Nunes has the ride.
