How High The Moon Wins Debut

Monday, 10th August 2015

How High The Moon, a full sister to Gr1 Pretty Polly Stakes winner Diamondsandrubies (Fastnet Rock-Quarter Moon, by Sadler's Wells), has made a pleasing start to her career winning a seven furlong fillies maiden at the Curragh overnight. Despite striking interference early in the race, the Coolmore-bred 2YO daughter of Fastnet Rock finished strongly to score by 1.25-lengths over fellow fillies Midnight Crossing and Creme De La. "She's a nice filly and you would have to be happy with that. She will have learned a lot," trainer Aidan O'Brien said. "She can come back here for the Gr2 Debutante Stakes [23 August] or she has a number of other options." How High The Moon holds a number of feature race entries including the Gr1 Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on 13 September. How High The Moon is out of the Gr1 Moyglare Stud Stakes winner and dual Oaks runner-up Quarter Moon and hails from the wonderful European family of Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Yesterday, Song, All My Loving as well as Alborada, Albanova, Aussie Rules and Allegretto.
