Guineas Target For Prince Of Brooklyn
Mick Price has confirmed that the Gr1 Caulfield Guineas will be the primary spring target for Prince Of Brooklyn (Magnus-Tristabeel, by Zabeel) after he recorded a comfortable barrier trial win at Cranbourne on Monday, reports horseracing.com.au. The unbeaten Magnus colt has won his only two starts to date, highlighted by a debut victory in the Gr3 National Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville in May. Price said that while Prince Of Brooklyn lacked the talent of stable-mate Ready For Victory who is being aimed at next month's Gr1 Golden Rose in Sydney, he expects the 1600m Guineas distance to suit Prince Of Brooklyn down to the ground. "I think the mile will be good for him," Price said. "I don't think he's as quick as Ready for Victory and I think the races he was placed in were really beneficial to him, but he's still a nice horse." From the Zabeel mare Tristabeel, Prince Of Brooklyn is a great grandson of 4-time Gr1-winning champion filly Research.
