Pride Of Dubai Update

Wednesday, 12th August 2015

Co-trainer Paul Snowden says that exceptional colt Pride Of Dubai (Street Cry-Al Anood, by Danehill) could open his spring campaign in Melbourne. Vancouver, rated by most as Pride Of Dubai's biggest threat in the upcoming 3YO features such as the Caulfield Guineas, kicks off his prep with 60kg in Saturday's Gr3 San Domenico Stakes, but Snowden says the stable is keen to avoid starting Pride Of Dubai off under similarly testing conditions. "He's coming along nicely," Snowden told RSNs Shane Anderson yesterday. "There's only two options for him. He either runs in a set weights and penalties and carries 60kg like Vancouver does on Saturday, or we go to Melbourne for those set weight races. We've opted to tread a bit of water with him and hopefully on Monday he might have a trial." He added: "He's had a good grounding. He looks in great order and is heading the right way." And in an ominous warning to his future rivals, Snowden says the best is yet to come from Pride Of Dubai. "He's always had a great attitude and that hasn't changed at all. He's just effortless in what he does. It s all too easy," he said. "He hasn't been to the races and put in a polished performance yet. He's always done things wrong yet still gets the job done. There's still a lot of improvement in the horse."
