Lady Eli Making Progress In Laminitis Battle
Unbeaten US filly Lady Eli continues to make progress in her battle against the deadly hoof disease laminitis, reports the Paulick Report. The 3YO daughter of Devine Park, who has been fighting laminitis for the past six weeks since stepping on a nail, is now walking 20 to 30 minutes twice daily at her barn at Belmont Park. "She's doing terrific," trainer Chad Brown said on Wednesday. "She got looked at [Tuesday] and everyone's really thrilled with how she's doing. She's increasing her exercise every day now. She's walking twice a day and she's getting out on the courtyard and grazing twice a day. She's ready to do more. Excellent hoof growth; her feet really look good." He added: ""So far she couldn't be doing any better. We set all these goals for her hoping she'd hit them and she's hitting them all." Lady Eli has 6 wins from 6 starts and was last seen winning the Gr1 Belmont Oaks on 4 July.
