Esoterique Wins Gr1 Prix Jacques Le Marois

Monday, 17th August 2015

At Deauville in France, former Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) celebrated a Gr1 success when 5YO Irish-bred mare Esoterique (Danehill Dancer-Dievotchka, by Dancing Brave) scored by 1.5-lengths for trainer Andre Fabre in the €700,000 Gr1 Prix Jacques Le Marois (8 furlongs) for 3YO+, over 3YO colt and stable-mate Territories (Invincible Spirit-Taranto, by Machiavellian) & 4YO entire Wild Chief (Doyen-Wild Angel, by Acatenango). This was the second top-flight victory for Esoterique who took her record to 5 wins (including the Gr1 Prix Rothschild) and 4 placings (including the Gr1 Queen Anne Stakes & Gr1 Prix Maurice de Gheest) from 15 starts. Trainer Andre Fabre said Esoterique was likely to have her next start in the Gr1 Prix du Moulin before a possible trip to the US or Japan. "Everything changes as the season develops, but I think Esoterique will go for the Prix du Moulin and possibly the Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket," Fabre told Sky Sports. "There is a race for her at the Breeders' Cup, or one in Japan."
