King's Troop To Be Aimed At Gr1 Autumn Sprints

Monday, 17th August 2015

Meanwhile, impeccably bred colt King's Troop (Redoute's Choice-Royal Snippets, by Royal Academy) showed why he is among the most valuable stallion prospects in the country with an excellent second behind Japonisme in Saturday's Gr3 San Domenico Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill. The lightly raced Redoute's Choice three-quarter brother to 2006 Gr1 Oakleigh Plate winner and successful sire Snitzel was bred by Arrowfield Stud and races in the well known ownership of Arrowfield Pastoral Pty Ltd & Belford Productions Pty Ltd. The 3YO will now be spelled with a view to contesting some of the feature Gr1 sprints in the autumn. "He is better than a winter horse and we know that now," trainer Gerald Ryan said. "I would have been pleased if he had run in the top four so this is a bonus."
