Our Rokkii Headed To Australia

Tuesday, 18th August 2015

Gr1 performed New Zealand 3YO Our Rokkii (Roc de Cambes-Clerihew, by Lomitas) is heading offshore to continue his fledgling career, reports NZ Racing Desk. A 50 percent stake in the 3YO has been purchased by clients of Lindsay Park Racing, the successful Victorian training operation of David Hayes and Tom Dabernig. The son of Roc De Cambes finished runner-up in the Gr3 Phoenix Park Classic at his second appearance before he ran fourth, after a chequered passage, in the Gr1 Manawatu Sires' Produce Stakes. "He was the first horse to step onto our Cambridge property," said Cambridge horseman Mark Forbes, who broke the youngster in and prepared him to place in all three of his starts last season. "It will be hard to see him go, but the owners John Collinson and Costa Feneridis will have the best of both worlds." He added: "They have retained half of the horse and they have still got the mother so the deal was too good to turn down." Our Rokkii has made good progress since returning from a spell and will head to Australia as a fit horse. "He's pretty much ready to go to the trials or the races," Forbes said. "He had a good break and he did six weeks on the water walker with Russell and Robyn Rogers at Kendayla Park. They did a fantastic job with him and he looks magnificent."
