Sadler Cops Four Month Ban

Wednesday, 19th August 2015

Victorian apprentice Tom Sadler has been suspended for four months after testing positive to the banned substance cocaine, reports Racing.com. The 20YO jockey, who pleaded guilty to presenting to ride with the drug in his system, had previously issued a statement taking full responsibility for his actions. "I take full responsibility for making a stupid mistake that was a lapse in judgement and I'm extremely sorry for letting down my family and the trainers and owners that support me," Sadler said. "I realise why it is so important for the safety of everyone involved that we are subjected to testing and I sincerely regret my actions." He added: "I will make every attempt possible to get back in the saddle to repay everyone that I've disappointed and let down by this." Sadler will be allowed to resume riding on 12 December provided he attends an accredited drug awareness program.
