Complacent To Make Long Awaited Comeback

Thursday, 20th August 2015

Jockey Christian Reith says he is looking forward to reuniting with Gr1-winning Godolphin galloper Complacent (Authorized-Insouciance, by Quest for Fame) in the Gr2 Warwick Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on Saturday, reports Racingnsw.com.au. Complacent, winner of the Gr1 Spring Champion Stakes as a 3YO, has not raced since finishing runner-up to Polanski in the 2013 Victoria Derby due to a tendon strain. "John [trainer John O'Shea] is very happy with him and he wouldn't be bringing him back in this race if he didn't feel he was ready," Reith said. "The horse has loads of potential. I think we saw that when he won the Spring Champion Stakes." He added: "It's a hot race, that's for sure, but as long as my bloke is doing his best work late we'll be happy because he obviously won't be at his best until he gets over longer distances." Godolphin have set Complacent some lofty targets in the spring entering him for the Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup.
