Monday, 24th August 2015

At Royal Randwick in Sydney, Coolmore's Gr1-winning Danehill stallion Fastnet Rock (Danehill-Piccadilly Circus, by Royal Academy) added a Group success when 4YO mare Amicus (Fastnet Rock-Gold Chant, by El Moxie) scored by 0.3-length for trainer Chris Waller in the $125,000 Gr3 Toy Show Quality (1300m) for 3YO+ f&m, over fellow 4YO mares Echo Gal (Stratum-Pink Siris, by Encosta de Lago) & Wine Tales (Tale of the Cat-Vinavion, by Flying Spur). Purchased for $500,000 by Chris Waller Racing at the 2013 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Tyreel Stud, Amicus took her record to 3 wins (including the Gr1 Thousand Guineas) and 4 placings (including the Gr2 MRC Thousand Guineas Prelude) from 13 starts for $540,485 earnings. Waller said that Amicus was likely to head to Melbourne for the Gr1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on 26 September. "She has come back well and it's good to see her win," Waller said. "We might look at a race like the Sir Rupert Clarke in Melbourne."
