Galileo Adds Ireland Gr3

Monday, 24th August 2015

At the Curragh in Ireland, former Coolmore shuttler and triple Gr1-winning champion European sire Galileo (Sadler's Wells-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) added a Group success when 3YO Irish-bred mare Found (Galileo-Red Evie, by Intikhab) scored by 4 lengths for trainer Aidan O'Brien in the Gr3 Royal Whip Stakes (10 furlongs) for 3YO+, over 4YO UK-bred entire Answered (Authorized-Dublino, by Lear Fan) & 4YO gelding Highly Toxic (Dalakhani-Chiang Mai, by Sadler's Wells). This was a pleasing return to form by Found who had been runner-up at Gr1 level at her past two starts. She took her record to 3 wins (including the Gr1 Prix Marcel Boussac) and 4 placings (including the Gr1 Coronation Stakes & Gr1 Irish 1,000 Guineas) from 7 starts for €333,853 earnings. Trainer Aidan O'Brien said that Found may have her next run in the Gr1 Prix Vermeille at Longchamp on September 13 en route to the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in October. "That is the first time Found has run beyond a mile, and we always felt she was crying out for it," O'Brien told Sky Sports. "The plan was always to keep her to a mile until Ascot, and then give a break. We could have a look at the Arc with her."
