Mongolian Khan's Sire Priced To Appeal To Breeders
With less than a week before the super busy 2015 breeding season kicks off, many breeders are still trying to marry value with proven success. One stallion who falls into this category is the beautifully bred son of Danehill, Holy Roman Emperor. A close relation to former champion stallions Encosta de Lago and Flying Spur, the sire of newly crowned New Zealand Horse of the Year, Mongolian Khan, is no stranger to success. The highest rated 2YO by his multiple champion sire, Holy Roman Emperor is also the sire of another five individual Gr1 winners, among them Hong Kong Horse of the Year Designs On Rome. Sire of five individual stakes-winners in Australia last season, where his progeny provided him with his best ever local year, Holy Roman Emperor's feat put him firmly amongst some of the country's highest rated and most expensive stallions. Returning to Coolmore in 2015, the sire of high class local sprinter Angelic Light and emerging Gr1 prospect Setinum commands attention at $22,000.
