Patience The Key With Derby Placegetter

Thursday, 27th August 2015

Gr1 performer Sound Proposition (Savabeel-Ebony Babe, by Ebony Grosve) will return to light duties at Wexford Stables next month, reports NZ Racing Desk. The 4YO Savabeel gelding came a long way in a short time in his first preparation that culminated in a last-start third behind star 3YOs Mongolian Khan and Volkstok'n'barrell in the Gr1 New Zealand Derby at Ellerslie in February. "He was a horse that was plagued by immaturity and soundness issues so we gave him a really good break and we'll be looking to race him around Christmas with a view to the autumn," co-trainer Lance O'Sullivan said. Sullivan has previously mentioned the Gr1 Auckland Cup (3200m) at Ellerslie in March as a long-term target for Sound Proposition.
