Gold Symphony Wins Gr3 McNeil Stakes

Monday, 31st August 2015

At Caulfield in Melbourne, Chatswood Stud's Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes winning stallion Reward For Effort (Exceed And Excel-Miss Prospect, by Rory's Jester) added a Group success when 3YO colt Gold Symphony (Reward for Effort-Tzaress, by Stravinsky) scored by 0.2-length for trainer Peter Moody in the $150,000 Gr3 McNeil Stakes (1200m) for 3YOs, over fellow 3YO colt Ready For Victory (More Than Ready-Crillon, by Zabeel) & 3YO gelding Demonstrate (New Approach-Swishes, by Danehill). Gold Symphony, who hails from the same female line as Golden Slipper winner Belle Du Jour, is raced by Triple Crown Syndications who purchased him for $100,000 at the 2014 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale from the draft of Grange Thoroughbreds. This was his second successive stakes victory and took his record to 3 wins (including the Gr3 Vain Stakes) and 1 placing from 4 starts for $225,700 earnings.
