Blue Blooded Filly Makes Eye Catching Debut
Beautifully bred filly Sacred Eye made a fetching debut at Geelong yesterday when winning the Emsley Lodge F&M Maiden Plate over 1300m. Racing in the navy blue silks of Coolmore Stud, Sacred Eye is by High Chaparral out of the Gr3 The Vanity winner Musidora (Rock Of Gibraltar) and was purchased by BBA Ireland for $270,000 at the 2014 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Coolmore who have evidently retained an interest. Coolmore sold Musidora - who hails from the family of celebrated blue hen Fanfreluche and champion Australian sires Flying Spur and Encosta de Lago - for $1 million to Mark Pilkington Bloodstock at the 2008 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale. "She's got really good ability this filly so hopefully she can measure up to city class," Lindsay Park assistant trainer Gary Fennessy said. "We're sure she will and she could even be better than that." He added: "She's a filly that will probably be better suited at a mile or further, but she's heading the right way and hopefully she can measure up to better class."
