Vancouver Eases For Golden Rose
Vancouver has been displaced as favourite for Saturday week's $1 million Gr1 Golden Rose following a lacklustre trial at Rosehill yesterday, reports Sky Racing. The Gai Waterhouse-trained colt looked a shadow of the horse that swept to Golden Slipper glory in an unbeaten juvenile campaign when hard ridden to finish third in the first heat of the morning over 1030m. Godolphin's impressive Gr2 Run To The Rose winner Exosphere now heads the market at $3 with Vancouver easing significantly from $2.70 to $4. Despite the sub-par performance, Vancouver's jockey Tommy Berry says he is not concerned. "He trialled nice. He's getting ready for a 1400 metre race now and he's looking for every bit of that," Berry told Sky Sports Radio. "I'm really looking forward to the Golden Rose and he'll be a big player."
