Fabre Praises Top Class Vadamos
Trainer Andre Fabre has labelled Vadamos (Monsun-Celebre Vadala, by Peintre Celebre) a potential champion following his brilliant win in the Gr2 Oettingen Rennen (8 furlongs) at Baden-Baden in Germany overnight, reports Racing Post. In what has been described as the best performance seen on a German racetrack this year, the French 4YO destroyed his opposition winning by an effortless 5-lengths over 4YO British mare Merry Me (Invincible Spirit) and 4YO German entire Diplomat (Teofilo). The winning margin could have been far greater had jockey Vincent Cheminaud wished, with Vadamos seemingly never out of second gear. Fabre was effusive in his praise of the son of Monsun, adding it was likely he would now head to the Gr1 Champion Stakes at Ascot on 17 October. "He's top class, he could be a champion," Fabre said. "He's effective at all distances between a mile and a mile and a half and reminds me a lot of Manduro [who was by the same sire - Monsun]." He added: "He's entered in all the top Group 1 races. I shall have to talk things over with the owners, but Ascot's Champion Stakes looks a good option." Vadamos took his record to 5 wins from 10 starts for €121,700 earnings.
