Jack Hobbs On Course For Arc

Monday, 7th September 2015

Top-class English colt Jack Hobbs (Halling-Swain's Gold, by Swain) remains on target for his big end-of-season targets including the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe after scoring an effortless 3.75-length win in the Gr3 September Stakes (12 furlongs) at Kempton on Saturday. Trainer John Gosden said of the Godolphin-owned Irish Derby winner: "I hadn't done a lot of work with him and he was fresh down to the start, but in the race William [Buick] managed to switch him off and get him relaxed, and that is important." He added: "There's no reason why we won't go to France and he has won well today. I think he is an improving horse and like his father he will get better at four and five, there is no reason he won't improve with age." Jack Hobbs took his record to 4 wins (including the Gr1 Irish Derby) and 2 placings (including the Gr1 Epsom Derby) from 6 starts for £908,516 earnings.
