Prince Gibraltar Wins Gr1 Grosser Preis Von Baden

Monday, 7th September 2015

At Baden-Baden in Germany, 7-time Gr1-winning former shuttler Rock of Gibraltar (Danehill-Offshore Boom, by Be My Guest) celebrated a Gr1 success when 4YO entire Prince Gibraltar (Rock of Gibraltar-Princess Sofia, by Pennekamp) scored by 1.75-lengths for trainer Jean-Claude Rouget in the Gr1 Grosser Preis Von Baden (12 furlongs) for 3YO+, over 3YO filly Nightflower (Dylan Thomas-Night of Magic, by Peintre Celebre) & fellow 4YO entire Sirius (Dashing Blade-Saratina, by Monsun). This was the second Gr1 victory for Prince Gibraltar who took his record to 4 wins (including the Gr1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud,) and 6 placings from 12 starts. Prince Of Gibraltar is being aimed at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe but will be offered at auction beforehand. "He'll run in the Arc and he's entered in the Arc Sale on the eve of the race," said Rouget. "He'll go through the ring with that entry. I could see him doing well in Australia."
