The Cleaner Wins Gr2 Dato' Tan Chin Nam Stakes

At Moonee Valley in Melbourne, deceased Armidale Stud stallion Savoire Vivre (Sadler's Wells-Oh So Sharp, by Kris) added a Group success when 8YO gelding The Cleaner (Savoire Vivre-Dash of Scotch, by Blessington) scored by 1.75-lengths for trainer Mick Burles in the $250,000 Gr2 Dato' Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m) for 3YO+, over 9YO gelding Bagman (Easy Rocking-Bada Bing, by Dehere) & 6YO Irish-bred gelding Dibayani (Shamardal-Dibiya, by Caerleon). This was back-to-back Dato' Tan Chin Nam victories for The Cleaner who took his record to 19 wins (including the Gr2 Dato' Tan Chin Nam Stakes, Listed George Adams Plate & Listed Tasmanian Stakes) and 15 placings (including the Gr1 Emirates Stakes, Gr3 Hobart Cup, Listed CRV Winter Championship Final Handicap & Listed Newmarket Handicap) from 51 starts for $1,192,521 earnings. "I was really pleased with him today, I knew he had improved three or four lengths from his Caulfield run," Burles told Racing.com. "I think he's getting bigger and stronger." The Cleaner is being aimed at the Gr1 Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley on 24 October.
