Brent Zerafa Found Guilty

Tuesday, 8th September 2015

Racing media personality Brent Zerafa was yesterday found guilty by Racing NSW stewards on charges of conduct prejudicial to the image and interests of racing. The charge related to Zerafa's conduct as a TVN employee providing expert commentary from the mounting yard on Race 3 at the Royal Randwick meeting on Saturday, 17 January this year. Zerafa received text messages from John Camilleri in relation to the Sam Kavanagh-trained Palazzo Pubblico that included a tip for Palazzo Pubblico to win the race. Betting records showed Zerafa placed a bet on Palazzo Pubblico, yet he did not tip the horse on TVN prior to the race. A date will be set in conjunction with Zerafa and his legal counsel, Damien Sheales, to consider the issue of penalty. Click here to view the stewards findings.
