Arrowfield To Sponsor Kembla Grange Classic

Tuesday, 15th September 2015

The Illawarra Turf Club has announced that its flagship 3YO fillies' race will be sponsored by Arrowfield Stud from 2016. Kembla Grange Racecourse Chief Executive Officer Peter de Vries said yesterday: "The Illawarra Turf Club is very pleased to announce its association with Arrowfield as sponsor of the Kembla Grange Classic. Arrowfield's support will further enhance our flagship race and its place in the Sydney Autumn Carnival." Arrowfield Stud's Bloodstock Manager Jon Freyer said: "We're very pleased to support a fillies' Group race that the Illawarra Turf Club has developed so successfully since its first running in 2003 when it was won by Ain't Seen Nothin', now an outstanding member of the Arrowfield broodmare band." The Kembla Grange Classic is a race for 3YO fillies run during the Sydney Autumn Carnival in March of each year. In its short life the race has compiled an impressive list of winners including subsequent Gr1 winners Allez Wonder, Hot Danish and Appearance. The Arrowfield Kembla Grange Classic will be staged along with the AJ "Bert" Lillye Memorial, the Kembla Grange Stayers Cup and the second annual Provincial Championships Qualifier on Kembla Grange Racecourse's richest day of racing, Classic Day, which boasts over $500,000 in prize money. Classic Day returns to Kembla Grange Racecourse on Friday 11th March 2016.
